The MUX-Serial allows you to convert
data transfer from 4-Channel RS-485 to RS-232. You can communicate with up to 4
devices through the RS-232 interface connectors. Connections from a controller
to the MUX-Serial RS-485 interface connector can be accomplished with either 2 or
4-wire configuration. On 2-wire or multi-drop mode, line turn around tri-state
timing is set with hardware timers using Jumpers JPI through JP4 to accommodate
2,400 to 38,400 bps asynchronous communication. The RS-485 interface connector
allows multi-drop communication on a single bus of up to 4,000 feet (1,200
meters) using a shielded twisted pair (Minimum 24 AWG).
